CEO, DESFA

DESFA is proud to exclusively support and fund the Interdisciplinary Professional MSc Program “Energy Systems and Sustainability” of the National Technical University of Athens, investing in the next generation of scientists and professionals who will drive the evolution toward a lower-carbon future, shaping the energy networks of tomorrow — secure, sustainable, and connected.

We believe that strong technical education is the foundation upon which not only specialized expertise, but also the leadership skills required to navigate a rapidly evolving energy landscape, are built. At the same time, collaboration and interdisciplinary thinking are essential to developing agile and sustainable solutions with meaningful impact.

At DESFA, we consider the connection between academic knowledge and the real needs of the market and society to be essential, ensuring that education translates into practical value, professional growth, and long-term impact for the future.

We are delighted to welcome you to the new Professional Interdisciplinary Postgraduate Program (PIPP) “Energy Systems and Sustainability”, which was created to address the challenges of the energy transition and sustainable development. The program is the result of a collaboration between the NTUA and DESFA S.A., with the aim of educating scientists and professionals who will actively contribute to the energy transformation of Greece and Europe.

The development of the program began in October 2024 through the Memorandum of Understanding between the two institutions and was based on an intensive and creative effort. Our goal was to establish a modern program focusing on renewable fuels, hydrogen, biomethane, e-fuels, CCUS technologies, and the overall transition toward sustainable energy systems.

The program offers high level scientific knowledge and strong connections with the needs of the market and industry through modern subject areas and an interdisciplinary approach. We invite you to become part of an academic community that invests in knowledge, innovation, and sustainable development.

Sincerely,
The Director of the PIPP “Energy Systems and Sustainability”
