Each academic year, the NTUA Senate approves the official academic calendar, defining the educational and examination processes timetable, for both winter and spring semesters. The term semester is used “for convenience”.
Each semester includes:
- Course registration period
- 13 weeks teaching period
- Examination period
The winter semester includes the Christmas and New Year holidays, from 23.12 to 06.01, whilst the spring semester includes two weeks of Easter holidays. In addition, classes are not held on all official holidays as well as on specific dates determined by the NTUA Senate yearly.
Students can be enrolled for their Postgraduate Diploma Thesis in February, June and October. Accordingly, the delivery of the Master’s Thesis and its examination are carried out within specific time frames, depending on whether the project is accomplished within one (1) semester or two (2) semesters, in consultation with the MDE supervisor.
The minimum duration for the Program graduation is set at three academic semesters, with a maximum of four. The examination of the Thesis takes place in February, June and October. All semesters have a ten-day tolerance for the completion of all activities.
The registration of successful candidates as Postgraduate Students in the PIPP takes place within the first ten days of October. Within the 2nd week since the start of classes, the Secretariat issues a list registered PS for each course and forwards it to relevant instructors and the Program Studies Committee.
