The MSc Program “Energy Systems and Sustainability” implements the institution of the Academic Advisor in order to provide postgraduate students with a structured framework of support and academic guidance throughout their studies. This institution aims to foster a climate of cooperation between students and faculty, strengthen students’ academic development, and help address any difficulties that may arise in a timely and supportive manner. At the same time, it reflects NTUA’s broader commitment to counseling, student welfare, and the smooth progression of postgraduate studies.
Each postgraduate student is assigned an Academic Advisor by the Program Studies Committee, according to the student’s field of specialization. The Advisor supports the student in selecting the most appropriate courses based on their academic interests and goals, monitors their overall progress within the Program, endorses their course registrations, and provides guidance in cases of difficulties or special needs. In addition, the Advisor may direct students to the psychological and counseling support services available at NTUA, thus contributing to a more holistic and supportive academic experience. The Academic Advisor is not necessarily the same person as the supervisor of the postgraduate diploma thesis, but serves as a consistent academic point of reference throughout the student’s studies.
